Tom's Story
Tom began working as a stable hand in 2012. Early on, he immersed himself in the equine community, learning about the wide range of roles involved in caring for horses and other farm animals. During this time, Tom apprenticed with a local farrier, where he discovered a deep passion for the craft and the skill it demanded.
Tom’s Farrier Service, LLC was officially established on January 6, 2022, with a mission to provide dependable, high-quality hoof care to horses throughout Central Ohio. What began as a commitment to craftsmanship and horsemanship has grown into a trusted farrier practice serving more than 12 counties across Ohio.
Professional Training & Certification
Tom is a Certified Farrier (since December 2021) and a proud graduate of the Oklahoma State Horseshoeing School, located at 4802 Dogwood Rd in Ardmore, Oklahoma. His training focused on foundational trimming and shoeing skills, equine anatomy, therapeutic applications, and practical problem-solving for hooves of all shapes and conditions.
This formal education provides the groundwork for consistent, high-quality hoof care built on principles of balance, soundness, and long-term comfort.
Commitment to Professional Standards
Tom is a member of the American Farrier’s Association (AFA) since January 2022, demonstrating a continued commitment to learning, growth, and industry standards. AFA membership supports ongoing education, best practices, and a network of farriers dedicated to advancing the craft.
